Nice enough spot and good trail! Just make sure Google doesn't route you to ask elementary school parking lot and tell you to walk a mile or so east. The entrance to the lot is in a neighborhood, just to the east of the actual trailhead. It shows up as trail but it's the road to the lot.
Nice place to start and/or end a bike ride or run.
This parking area seems pretty good and relatively secure. It's busy so that makes me feel a little better about the security of the lot and it appears to be in a safe area. No bathrooms at the trailhead that we could find but the trail has many porta-potty's every few miles. The Luce Line trail is a very nice trail, crushed limestone that is almost as smooth rolling as pavement, yet it has no cracks or pot holes. Super fun to ride bikes on if you're into really flat and very straight rails to trails routes.
Long, smooth hard pack dirt / gravel combo. Away from the road
Ample enough parking. No signage pointing the way to the parking lot, no porta-potty, no shelter. Trail information signs located in the opposite direction of the parking lot from the start of the rail.
