A rare find in suburbia. Hop on a trail and you will find yourself 'lost' in the woods. Although, you wont be lost because the trails are well traveled, even in winter, and maps are plentiful. We've visited frequently in all seasons and have never been disappointed. Rent snowshoes, borrow a walking stick, bring the kids for a nature scavenger hunt - you can visit over and over again and find something new each time. When it's open the visitor center is something special - fun, engaging activities for kids, and a great spot for adults to rest in between hikes. Pull up a rocking chair and watch the birds and squirrels through floor to ceiling windows! Truly one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities!
This place is absolutely fantastic to bring your family to. There are so many different activities that are happening here on a frequent basis. There are camps for the kids. We have personally attended the bird banding demonstrations, and the maple syrup tapping and boil.
Excellent park with trails and tons of info any time of year. Great for kids to get outdoors and off the couch.
Been twice for events. A winter Soltice hike & A Mulled Wine Moonlight hike. Beautiful hidden gem. Nice trails & lots of parking. Friendly staff & follow Covid guidelines. Can't wait to check out in the summer!
Always love the story books they have set up at the Sumac Trail. Stop by in n spring for the maple syrup harvest.
