I got the pepperoni roll. It was very good. The dough was the right thickness and it was greasy. Just like a good pepperoni roll should be. And the owner(?) greeted me and said he was glad to see me and thanked me. Seemed genuine. He also gave it to me for the lunch price which was about .60 cheaper. If I'm in the area again and wanted another pepperoni roll, I would surely go there again.
The owner is disciplined and has a strong work ethic and it shows in his employees, even when he is not there. In my opinion they make some of the best pie in downriver. The pepperoni rolls, only available for lunch, are generous and tasty, even if a little greasy (which is a result of the amount of pepperoni stuffed into the crust).
Always solid on the quality and flavors. Yeah you're gonna wait a bit, but you'll know it's right out the oven. A slammed pizza joint is always a sure sign it's a must have on the take out days.
Everything on the menu is A1, specifically the meatball sub. I've had meatball subs from as many places as possible and sportsman is the best of all of them.
I've been eating their pepperoni rolls since I was in diapers. The best EVER
