Monroe Co. / Toledo North KOA Holiday

We are regular campers at this campground. It is close to home and affordable. We always have a good time. That's why I give it 4 stars. I wish it was cleaner. We don't swim in the pond because of that and the slide is kind of run down. I would give it 3 stars for that alone if it wasn't so familiar and comfortable to us. It is always pretty busy. If you like a lot of people to hang with and drink a few beers, this would be the place.

Overall, this KOA is one of our favorites! It is always well maintained, clean and staff is super friendly and accommodating. The DAILY pancake breakfast is our special highlight although unfortunately due to the pandemic, they are temporarily not serving. But there is so much else to do there and the camp store is filled with any last minute camping essentials if needed.

Been going here for a few years now. Had birthday parties, family camping trips and group camping trips. Never had an issue until this year.nWe were there in June ,Quiet time is 11 and security had told us to turn down the music, we did just that and about 5 minutes later we found him sneaking up on our pop up camper right were our kids are sleeping and spying on us. We had told him to leave in a stern and upset manner. We couldn’t believe he was standing there being a creep right next to our kids were they were sleeping. They quickly got on their cart and sped off and we did not hear or see them again. We decided to go back for a quick last minute camping trip this weekend. Friday night went well.nCome Saturday we were on the beach during the sand castle competition watching everyone build their castles. Security had claimed this boy was throwing sand , we did not witness such actions as we were watching the whole situation. This boy was picked out and racially profiled and kicked off the beach. Saturday night security had stopped again and told us to keep it down. We did just that and when we questioned about the several other sites with loud music and partying ( not that we’re trying to ruin people’s time but more asking why just us?as our kids were already sleeping and we weren’t even that loud) the security guy instantly got defensive and started throwing F bombs asking if we have a problem.nWhen my wife said yes we actually do he stood real tall and made a lunge towards her like he was going to do something. At that point I stepped in and told him he had better back off.nWe quickly called the police and he had quickly ran back to his cart and took off.nThe Security guy definitely had it out for us after the first incident. We will no longer support this kind of manner and will not be going back.

We had an amazing stay. Just a great getaway for family and friends and has fun for all ages. Our group had a modern cabin, a pop up site and a few camp sites. We were truly impressed with all of them and our weekend overall. Had 2 little mishaps but both were addressed promptly, very apologetically and very satisfactorily. We will definitely all recommend it and most definitely be back many more times.

Lots of things to do never have any issues with this campground. I would recommend to anyone that has a family or just 1 person . Safe and monitored by campground staff. It isn't a big campground but there's a lot going on.
