This is by far my favorite trail in Michigan to date. With two young children (ages 5 & 9) it took us about 20-30 minutes to reach the end for this spectacular view. It is a fairly easy trail to hike and I highly recommend going shortly before sunset. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic trail. Loved hiking it in the winter. If you come in the winter make sure you drive in from the south. I came in from the north up a road that wasn't maintained by the county and my little car barely made it!
Great hike through the woods and amazing views at the topud83dudc99 Boot spikes recommended in the winter - a few areas can be a bit slick. Do'able for all ages. Empire has a few great places to eat as well - Joe's Friendly Tavern is a personal fave. Asparagus festival in May is fun too!!
Breathtaking is an understatement. A lot of fun and connects to a nearby trail which turned into a nice 3 mile hike. So much fun!!
