Every time I’m in the area we make a point to enjoy this stunning drive. I’ve come in the summer with the lush green trees, clear skies, and turquoise waters and you can see for miles. In the fall you can see many views of the colors and lake. All the overlooks are well maintained and accessible for the most part. Parking can be sparse but everyone is mindful of the environment and takes their pictures and politely shares their spots with the next people waiting. Pedestrians might be distracted so just drive with caution.nnWorth the drive and any fees to see these preserved views of beautiful Michigan.
Been driving this Scenic road for over 30 years ! So many happy, windswept Michigan memories for which I’m so grateful!
Must visit place in Fall. A beautiful drive with many places to stop and adore the colors of nature. During holiday weekend, this gets busy so try to skip first few spots (busiest) and you’ll see less crowd. People drive slow to enjoy the experience so don’t be a jerk and honk. Also, they do accept card but carry cash to pay at the gate.
Went first weekend reopened for 2020. Arrived early Sunday morning, so no crowds. Wonderful to get back up there again. #9 & 10 still my favorites.
