Huge lots! It's rustic, so pit toilets and no electricity or water, but who cares with so much space, trails to hike, and a great lake to swim in?! And so many fewer people than the west side of the state!! You are actually in the woods!!!
Hands down my favorite state campground so far. There are lots of side by sides and dirt bikes but this does not deter me. The sites are huge, you can hear the band from the bar next door on the weekends. The lake is clean and great for swimming although it is extremely shallow quite far out. If you like to have a good time while camping this is the place for you. There is an upper and lower campground. I have found the families and motorhomes tend to camp the lower campground and the younger crowd with tents tend to stay at the upper campground. The lower is definitely quieter and is right on the water. The upper you will have to drive down to the beach or take the trail down the steep hill which really isn't all that bad.
My family has been camping here since my mom was a child back when it was a national forest campground. I love it here. It is beautiful. Herein lies the cause of the low rating...people. there are not supposed to be dirt bikes and side by sides in lower campground but there continuously was, they are supposed to only use upper campground. People are running generators all night long and blaring radios all night. There should be quiet time from 11pm to 6am. If you need a generator to camp use upper site or camp at other campground that is not rustic. The purpose of rustic is we like quiet and do NOT need modern amenities.
Warning! The phone number on Google does not reach this campground but a different location. This is a great location but you must reserve in person on paper.
It is a great place to rustic camp with a beautiful lake and plenty of walking trails and the hinting is good as well
