Not for those looking for a casual stroll. It's trails are a bit overgrown and Lots of roots on the trail and is very narrow to walk through which would make taking infants in a stroller literally impossible. However... if back to nature is what you're after THIS IS IT! Such beauty and isolation. Loved it!

This is a really nice place. The paths are well defined and relatively well taken care of. Some parts are overgrown a bit, but it is still relatively easy to traverse. I wouldn't recommend taking a bike in, but for hiking it is great!

It's a fantastic experience. The trail actually feels like it's a part of the forest and not some over trimmed touristy attraction. I found lots of wildlife, and the river was so calm.

This isn't where the nature sanctuary is. The real Dowagiac Woods is down the street just past the Dowagiac River and is an amazing trail. This location on the map is only farmland. So if you make it here and are lost, just keep going down Frost and it'll be on the right.
