Riverbend Campground And Canoe Rental | Camping, Canoeing, Kayaking, and Tubing On The Rifle River!

We went for a tubing day trip on a busy weekend in July. We called ahead to reserve tubes but were told there was no need! We arrived about an hour before launch. Every person in the group had to show ID to the office (there were about 50 people in this office. No masks were being worn, only 1/5 employee and our group had masks.. even though it is mandated by the state). At that time 5 of us were there with another 3 on the way. The employee would not let us add their names on the list because they were not present. But said there would be no problem adding when they arrived. All but one of us signed up (on two different sheets) and the last person to arrive (still early) was unable to join. So we all had wait and go an hour later. It was chaos both to sign up and to get on a bus. We did however have fun once we got our tubes and started down the river.

If you're a family with your kids, I'd be very weary of renting a tube or canoe from here. Way too many people openly partying and smoking pot on entire river trip. Encountered many groups of tubers who had their tubes tied together and blocking for you to get past. We rented a canoe and had a hard enough time trying to maneuver around logs and rocks but the crowds of tubers made it nearly impossible. I'm all for having a good time but between the smell of pot, the swearing, the drinking, and the loads of people, it ruined our experience. Also with this being our first time going, we thought someone would be at the end to direct us to get out when trip was over. But not only were there no workers there, you had tons of people, some little kids, swimming and sitting right where you have to pull up. We had to worry about hitting some little kid because their parents were too busy partying. It was absolutely ridiculous, disappointing and we will never go back there again. Also forgot to mention, was told no alcohol would be tolerated and yet no one even checked our cooler. The bus that takes you to the drop off was so overcrowded that some people literally had to stand up. Read the other review of another person complaining about this same issue and the owner of the campground trying to say it is the people who choose to stand up. This is seriously the answer you are going to respond with? I was there and had to watch my husband stand up, along with quite a few others, because the bus was so crowded, THERE WERE NO SEATS! So much for social distancing, by the way!. On the ride back to the parking lot, there was a couple on there with us that were so drunk, they couldn't even talk. It was beyond obvious. And yet the bus dropped them off to their car. That is crazy to me! And I absolutely agree with the other reviewer who said clearly the owner doesn't care about his unhappy customers. With all the drunk and high people, he is lucky to have no one end up hurt. I would definitely think twice about going here, especially after seeing the owner's responses.

OMG had the best time with my new campground friends. Shout out to the wonderful staff. Tommy the owner, Debbie is the sweetest person in the world. And the hard working kids, Jenna, Meghan, Randy, Tyrone, and the cutie punutie Peyton. We will be back.

Tube rental and launch onsite, decent campsites. The wood was a little rough, big chunks not split well, hard to burn, and very difficult to get a hold of anyone in office, but well maintained bath house.
