Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: George A Stoutin, CFP®|AAMS®|ADPA®

Went online to locate a local financial advisor and reviewed several and decided to speak with George Stoutin out of Douglas Michigan. Online showed Stoutin’s office opening at 8:00AM, I arrived approximately 8:05 AM at his office and his office was closed, on the door it showed his office opened at 8:30 AM.nnI returned at 8:30 and was met by one of his associates and I asked if Stoutin was available to meet with me this morning, and she asked if I had an appointment, which I responded no. I again asked would Stoutin be able to meet with me and she continued to ask question after question after question. I explained to her that I just needed to know if he was able to meet with me this morning or not, cause if not I was going to go to another financial advisor I had researched. to me time was of the essence and if Stoutin was not free to meet I was going to need to drive to Illinois (a 2 hour drive) to meet with another financial advisor.nnShe said Stoutin was on the phone and she would see if he was available after he was off the phone. I waited in the lobby and she advised that he was able to meet with me and she escorted me to his office.nnStoutin asked how he could help me and I explained to Stoutin that my investment was two fold, a sum of money today and a larger sum of money mid year. I advised Stoutin that I wanted to invest money today and take advantage of the fear in the market.nnAfter explaining to Stoutin the above, Stoutin Stated that he wasn’t interested in doing business with me. When I asked Stoutin three times why he was not willing to do business with me, he responded each time that he was not interested in doing business and never gave me a legitimate answer.nnAs far as I am concerned, George Stoutin was angered or frustrated with me because I wanted to speak with him directly and not go thru his secretary to see whether or not he was the right financial advisor for me. Obviously in my opinion he was not the right advisor for me and neither is Edward Jones as a company.nnAs far as I am concerned Stoutin made it personal and failed to maintain a professional demeanor. In my opinion Stoutin does not have the ability to separate his professional dealings from his personal biases.nnDue to Stoutin’s demeanor it would suggest to me that Stoutin does not have the professional ability to keep things professional and leaves one to wonder can Stoutin’s decisions that He makes on his clients behalf always be in the best interest of his clients. in my opinion, based on my short interaction with Stoutin my thought is no he can NOT.nnStoutin represents Edward Jones and Stoutin in my opinion made the company Edward Jones look bad by his personal bias and inability to separate his personal face from his professional face. I am not willing to do business with anyone that can not maintain a professional unbiased demeanor. As far as I am concerned, Stoutin and for that matter Edward Jones needs me and you as customers for without customers any business will fail.nnBased on Stoutin’s demeanor, and I am grateful this happened early on and not after investing my hard earned money, I will now take my investments to another financial advisor to invest for me.nnNeither I nor anyone should be made to feel that the individual that they would be investing money is potentially biased and will not remain professional at all times.
