A portion of the Schoodic Woods Bike Trail is now being groomed for Nordic Skiing by Acadia National Park and Friends of Acadia. Come ski Schoodic Woods in Winter.

Beautiful campground with bike paths, trails and a one way loop road for cars. Considered the quiet side of Acadia. A bit short of boat launches for kayaks or canoes. The area in general is an outdoors person's paradise. Climb Schoodic Mountain and you'll see what I mean by looking at the big picture.

I never knew this part of Acadia NP was here. Unfortunately, the campground was closed when I arrived. The reason for going was to purchase an annual Federal Senior Pass for a year. With that said, it was an absolutely beautiful place and I have now extended my stay at a private campground for 2 more days to explore this part of the park.

It's closed, but very pretty....and thank goodness for the restroom.

Didn't visit the campground it was closed. But got a pass there and did the hiking trail that started there.
