What an unexpected and incredible find! We stayed in Castine in October and was very fortunate to find Castine Variety open for lunch even though it was off season.The lobster rolls with home made mayonaise was life altering. So much so we went back for dinner. The clam chowder was by far the best I have ever eaten. By far. I would recommend a second bowl for dessert. Thai curry shrimp HIGHLY recommended. The owner was kind and attentive - he even recommended a breathtaking walk by the Dice Head Lighthouse which we never would have known of. Cannot recommend highly enough. Understated. Affordable. Fabulous food.
Crowd little store with a few tables and good food and good ice cream for dessert.
Super friendly and personable. Delicious food and they don't skimp on the servings for the fish and chips or lobster roll! We loved it!
Great little place. Lobster roll was exceptional, the sweet potato fries so delicious, and the homemade coleslaw best I've ever had! I got a scone to go, heavenly. Reasonably priced for the coast. Will definitely be back!! Thank you.
Great Thai cuisine, extremely friendly folks who are also staying on top of safety concerns during this time. Enjoyed lunch a short stroll away overlooking the water. Will definitely be returning for another visit.
