Sam's Italian Foods

I called to check the price of spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread for 2 adults.nI was corrected on the terminology and told the price but not told what it included. I asked if it included what I wanted and he reluctantly said yes.nI asked if his location was across from family dollar and he said it’s the only one with a serious upswing in his voice with an attitude.nI asked how long until he could have it ready for pickup and he said he had a lobby full of people and it would take at least 30 minutes to get it ready for pickup.nI said I’d call back later and he hung up on me. I won’t call again.nThere was a mostly empty parking lot. LOL

Average food at an okay price but is still overpriced in my opinion. You would find better quality food elsewhere and at a similar price point, even at franchises. Portions are weak, and if you ask for additions they nickel and dime you, i.e., $1 for 2 or 3 small slices of tomato, $1 for another vegetable, etc. I will admit they have great whoopie pies and some of their other products that aren't made to order are, too, like their bottled dressing. However, these are really expensive and again you could find similar quality (or better) elsewhere for cheaper. Affordability is huge in Lewiston given how poor the area is, and many other local places can and do beat Sam's in this regard.

Sam’s has always been a staple of mine as a Maine native. From their pizza (I get the 10” bacon mushroom pizza) to their Maine Italians (if you’re not from Maine you need to make sure you try one), to their pasta dinners and salads - the prices are great and the quality is pretty consistent. The employees are very nice at this location. Now that I’m staying in Alabama temporarily, I made sure to bring plenty of Sam’s Italian oil with me because they don’t have anything like the Maine Italian sandwich here.

Only reason for the four stars is because the pricing can be a little high. I do however love their Hamburg Pizza, I literally grew up on it and it hasn't changed one bit.

Good place full meal including nice baked goods.
