You used to be able to snowmobile down here in the winter but no longer. They keep the gate locked and put up no snowmobiling signs. Shame, it was a great place to see in the winter.
It was a nice place to drive around. I only saw one other vehicle while I was there. I did not see any animals at all. One area was formerly Loring Air Force Base. The buildings are now abandoned and serve as wildlife refuge for migratory birds. There are several miles of walking trails also.
