Central Maine Federal Credit Union

I absolutely LOVE the auburn branch! The staff is amazing and I always get amazing service . With that said the Lewiston branch needs to get it together. Worst personalities and poor customer service. Wishing my branch was open on Saturdays!

Every time I go to this credit Union I feel like they go out of their way to hassle me. I have never seen such slow obnoxious employees with poor customer service. I use them for shared branching when I absolutely HAVE TOO but I can tell you I would never open an account with this credit Union.

My husband and I used the ATM last month, and it gave us $20 less than what was taken out of my account. They said they would count the machine and return my money, but they claim their machine was correct. Who's to say my $20 didn't go to the person before or after me? Not impressed. I called immediately with our receipt/transaction information, and they assured me it would be handled, I don't trust them.

I do not recommend central maine credit union! I’ve banked with multiple different banks and this is the only bank that I have had MULTIPLE issues with. Everything you do through this bank, forces you to go through unnecessary steps. I was unable to transfer my rent to my landlord (you can’t transfer to anyone else’s account if they don’t use CMCU) so I was forced to set up a ACH account that will cost me $20 to close when I no longer live at my current residence. I also had my debit card shut down because I wasn’t using it enough, and they gave me no warning that my card was going to be shut down, so I went to use it and it kept getting declined. I called to get a new debit card issued and they told me that it could not be done over the phone and I had to come in to re-sign papers. All of this was after they didn’t even let me know they were doing it! If you’re looking for a convenient bank, this is NOT THE ONE

If you are looking for a local bank to do ALL your financial needs with then Central Maine CU is a bank that you need to open an account with. They look for reason to say yes. They're very personable and professional. We enjoy the relationship immensely.
