Incredible 3,000 acre nature preserve along the Illinois River with an amazing diversity of wetlands and prairie plants and animals. Birder's paradise.
Beautiful nature preserve along the Illinois River, vanity of birds, native plants to IL, wonderful walkway thru native plants and grasses. Scenery is magnificent! Bring your binoculars
Saw hundreds and hundreds of snow geese flying over. Several swans. We are pretty sure there is at least one breeding pair. Coots, diving and dabbling ducks.
Very peaceful, relaxing place. We found ot completely by accident and spent about an hour at the top of the tower, watched birds and listened to the sounds of nature. We can't wait to go back
Lots of wildlife. The trail goes around the lake. Theres a cool lookout that's about 3 stories high with nice views. It's a great place to watch the sunset.
