I had a cow and a hog processed here. I live a good distance from this place and it was worth every penny and every mile because the quality of the meat, and the service is incredible. I went and picked up my hog and my wife went and picked up the beef. We were both treated with the utmost of respect and courtesy. We did not have anything but a positive experience. They were friendly, funny, and a pleasure to do business with. I will absolutely get my next hog and beef processed here again, and again. If I could give them 6 stars, I would.nI find it humorous that the people leaving bad reviews, are not leaving a poor review for the quality of the meat, but for having to wait for their meat to get processed, or their interaction with the owner.nFirst of all, everyone complaining about waiting, remember, YOU were the customer that wanted a freezer full of meat due to the panic of a shortage due to COVID. Then we have a mad rush and everyone wants their animal processed NOW. You then call the owner with an attitude because your meat is not done, and blame the owner for having an attitude. This is a little ironic don't you think?nI don't even know the owner. I live 100+ miles from Elmwood Meat locker. Of course it is taking time to process meat right now because of the scramble for a full freezer, just like the toilet paper shortage, or the clorox wipes shortage. Same scenario. Relax people or go pay 6 dollars a pound at Wal Mart for your hamburger and quit complaining.nnBy the way, I also highly recommend their signature seasoning salt. It is amazing.

Used to be a customer for over 30 years, will NEVER stop foot in again. I have been cussed out on the phone twice by John who is the owner. I made several calls to find out what the status was on the hog only to get a run around. Two months into it I cancelled the hog after being cussed out the first time. Month later I received a message saying the hog was done. I called back and talked to John again, reminding him of our first conversation only to end up being cussed out again. Not only is this a poor representation of his business but it also looks bad for where I originally purchased the hog.

Fantastic job on a recent purchase. I'm new to purchasing animals for processing; last used Raber and I was happy with the result. After using Elmwood Locker, I will look for opportunities to use them again. It was a little more per pound but the difference in packaging alone was profound! Much more convenient taking from freezer to cook. Their individually sold jerky products are also amazing!
