Great place for a family outing,nThe tour is free and amazing, the store doesn’t have enough variety of meat cuts. They could have included some fresh cut beef for sale. Most of the meat is frozen and pricey.nBut a good place for family to enjoy
This is such a nice experience for a forest preserve. Right now, you can park near a couple of goats. I brought my dog today (on leash) and the goats seemed interested to watch him for a little while as they munched on their hay. We headed down to the two hundred chickens grazing with their watchdog. The chickens run out of the way for the dog. The dog seems friendly enough but won't let your dog anywhere near the fence. Towards the river there is a flock of sheep, such a beautiful scene with the river and trees in the background. And just north of that are some cows sunning themselves just in front of the footpath. The tent with ducks gets noisier as you approach because the ducks hear you, discuss your footsteps and they all run away from the front to the back of the tent. They are such interesting creatures! So freely walking around this Forest Preserve farm property evokes a real feeling of well-being. I can't believe there are not more visitors. Maybe there is little access into the barns and all. But you really can't miss out on the serenity of this easily accessible gem!
My kids loved it. So much to explore & it's great that it connects to other trails.
I enjoy this place. There are beautiful walking trails that lead to the river that are maintained. The farm is active; raising grass fed beef, turkeys, chickens and goats. They have a wonderful little store where all is available, including raw milk, eggs and many other yummy items.
The scenery is beautiful hundred percent suggest everybody to take a walk and enjoy nature
