Teacher Ms. blessing is a great wonderful teacher. She taught us a lot and I learned so much from her.

Best step taught me a lot Mrs.Blessings was very hands on and helps you out a lot to pass the state boards and i like the set up that she has so every body can learn in her class.

There are many pros and cons to Best Step Academy.nnPros:n*Best Step Academy is privately owned by a very kind couple. They are also Christians and view healthcare as a way of serving God and neighbor. As a Christian, I enjoyed this aspect of the class.n* I believe that Ms. Blessing is probably a very good nurse. She works full time on top of teaching at the school which is impressive.n*I was allowed to complete clinicals at my current place of employment due to COVID-19. This was very convenient for me and something I enjoyed.n*The class sizes were small and you receive more 1:1 attention during classes and labs. Miss Blessing does try to help you as much as she can and encourages questions.nnCons:n*The teacher was late to all but 2 classes by 15-30 minutes. One day it was around 45 minutes. This set a poor tone for the class and was a bad example of what is acceptable. As a professional, you are expected to show up to your job on time.n*They are very fiscally conservative at Best Step, to the point where it rubbed me the wrong way. During the PPE lab we were made to re-use all PPE except masks. This included plastic hairnets, which made me feel uncomfortable. We are in the middle of a pandemic and we all paid tuition, surely they could afford to buy some new supplies for students. All handouts were also re-used from class to class and had to be turned back in. The textbooks were also very worn.n*I felt that Miss Blessing did not appropriately proctor the course at times and that this did not set a tone that encouraged integrity and professionalism.n*The class felt disorganized at times. This may have partially been due to COVID-19. We were assigned chapters to read every night but then would read them together the next day. At some point we were very behind due to this practice.nnOverall: I would recommend Best Step Academy as a way to obtain CNA Licensure. I passed my board at first sitting. If you put the work in and take it seriously, you will succeed. They are also more available than some of the bigger community college classes that fill up quickly.

Best step academy is a really great school. It is a 6 week program so it is very fast paced. Ms. blessing is a great instructor because she is a hands on instructor. She teaches you and then she demonstrates how it is done. She tries her best to make sure everyone in the class understands the material and if not she goes into detail. Overall the class experience was great..I highly recommend students that want to start off as a CNA.
