I have been going to X sport since 2016 and never had such a bad experience like today.nDuring the pandemic all of us should wear masks.The First time I forgot it and realized I didn't have it when I arrived at the gym. I asked the front desk workers if they have extra. I was told yes but I have to pay $2 to get it. I’m paying $40 for membership every month. When the gym was closed for one month I never called and asked to reimburse that money. Basically I was still paying for monthly membership but I could not work out because X sport was closed.nToday, when a worker told me I need to pay $2 for a mask, I asked them to cancel my membership. Right, a second front desk gave me paperwork to sign. X sport should provide a safety mask for free in that kind of situation, not charging for this. Later, guys told me that an X sport’s worker bought a pack of masks and reselling them for $2 a piece. Do X sport’s workers allowed to have such kind of business like this? So this location chose to sell illegally masks and lost a member. They should provide a safety mask for free. This is ridiculous.I would call or meet the main manager. I want to discuss this situation and this “kind of business “.
This location looks like it is running itself. The cleaning staff is great but overall maintenance of the weight stock and equipment is lacking. I haven't seen a 25lbs dumbell since the location reopened. An inventory should be done because it also looks like they are missing 25 10 and 5 pound weight plates. A few of the weight machines are also no longer bolted down and have shifted. This location has seen better days.
Overall great experience. Been a customer since they opened this location. Love it, one small issue is they take a while to fix their machines but still a good gym
(Update: 2020-2021)nnI wish I could have given this place ZERO stars for visual lack of cleaning.nnWith Covid, I cannot attest to their cleanliness with precise measurement machine but I looked in the window of 3 facilities (the Brickyard, Melrose Park and Central near Belmont) quiet a few times and didn't see cleaning staff or patrons wiping things down. I do know that the place is crowded and people do not wear masks as they should. Seems like they only care about getting money and NOT the safety of its customer or staff.nn(Update: 2016-2019) Not as clean. Many trainers seemed to be internet trained or not at all. They push unqualified trainers on people. The quality of staff is less than mediocre. The place is not as clean as it should be.nnA wonderful staff is NOT enough.. I hope they can keep it like this.(4 years ago).
And today after a 2 year absence from this gym I find none handicapped civilians parked in those parking spaces. It’s loud it’s like civilians come in here thinking it’s their personal gym. Rude employees the GM has lost control since 2016. No one greets me they just take temperature n say your good. Equipment out of order not to mention some equipment is out dated.nnRegardsnnGutierrezespindola
