Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant

The food is always delicious! Retired in South Carolina almost 65 years in Chicago area, and I always make sure I stop here when visiting. And my Mom loves it too!

I ordered General Tsos Chicken and an order of egg rolls. Simply put, I have never had more inedible Chinese food in my life. The chicken was NOT chicken, it was sponge like, and it was drowning in a thin liquidy sauce. Egg rolls are my favorite food in the world, and these, were like cardboard. Usually I have a good experience here. The food is usually well-prepared and they are somewhat timely. Today, I waited over an hour for my food. I watched people pull up and get their own food before me, while I sat in my car. They need to hire more people or I don’t think I will be coming back due to the insane wait and subpar service.

Ordered the sesame seed chicken and Mongolian beef (extra spicy) to try out a local restaurant I've never been to. Everything looked as it should. But Literally the best thing was the white rice and the spicyest was the sweet and sour sauce. First time I've ever been actually disappointed by Asian food in my life. I am actually at a loss for words on how to describe how flavorless and off flavored everything tasted or flavors that were just missing... If there is just a new cook or it's just an off day, I think they would be better off just being closed until they find someone that knows how to cook. I will personally never be returning. To be clear, this was isn't a preference thing, these were just incomplete dishes and a failure that anyone would be disappointed to serve someone else.

Great service and prices. Better tasting than any other chinese place in the area.
