Maybe the best BBQ restaurant in central Illinois. The burnt ends and mac-n-cheese are a wonderful combo, made even better paired with the cornbread! I've never had a bad meal here and Joe always is a great server. My only small complaint is that they don't have all the sauces on the table to try.
Visited the black dog today with the family and was not disappointed. The queso with brisket and chips was a delicious appetizer. We had the three meat platter with two sides it was delicious. The ribs had a nice bark which kept them moist inside and very delicious. Pulled pork was tender with a bark also it was very good. The sauces were unique and tasty. Could of uses a larger portion of each of the meats for the price but everything was very good. We will definitely come back it was outstanding BBQ.
Black dog never disappoints for good food. When it comes to smoke, they know how to work it. The BBQ sauces are great, but the meat itself is so good. Recently had the gumbo on special and it was so good. Go here and enjoy yourself. Also a great little atmosphere. The workers are always so nice, too. Can't really say enough good things about black dog.
Great food and location. Smoked rib ends with sweet potato fries and Carolina red sauce are delicious!
Love this place. I've been to both locations, but the original one (in urbana) is still my favorite. Its all about the atmosphere. The BBQ is fantastic, they have a great selection of beer, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. During the week it's pretty quiet and relaxing, but if you're in the mood for a more upbeat evening, go on a Friday or Saturday night when this place is really hopping. But get there early cause they sometimes run out of stuff.
