Surprised this place has such positive ratings. This park is immediately south of the U-C Sanitary District's wastewater treatment plant and it smells TERRIBLE. I couldn't stand the stench and I'm sure it's not healthy for children to be inhaling these toxic fumes. It's revolting that a park for children is located right text to a wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater plant also seems to attract hoards of mosquitoes: we have been playing outside in other areas around town daily without any mosquito problems but when we arrived at Ambucs we were immediately ambushed by them!! They were everywhere. The adjacent repugnant wastewater plant combined with the ubiquitous mosquitoes made for a terrible experience and we will never return to Ambucs Park. Do yourselves a favor and keep your kids AWAY!
