I never been treated so humiliated and disrespected in my life. Thanks to the maintenance supervisor. I observed him over an 8 hour period of time throwing fits telling others that he wanted to fire this young man that works for him. I was there volunteering my time. I welded their wind sock post . After the guy wanted me to mow with a big tractor they have. I told he I love to mow! He drove me out to the area and he said, try and mow this, but it might be too wet you will probably get stuck. But it's okay I can pull you out with the backhoe. And of course I got stuck! However I was doing what he asked. I really didn't like the fact that I had to tell him to put x's on both sides of the runway when it is closed. He wasn't sure and he had to ask the superintendent. I told him I was a pilot, he was unaware of the fact that I knew what I was talking about. Well he continue to be rude all day. The superintendent was informed that I hung up the tractor. He told him that he couldn't use me because I didn't know what I was doing. He convinced the superintendent that it was my fault. When I was only following his command in the first place. I could hardly believe that the superintendent took his side. Knowing that the guy was the one to make me mow that tall wet field.Especially after the fact I welded up all the windsock posts before lunch time. You couldn't ask for a better person to volunteer their time. I never felt more insulted in my life. Once upon a Time my impression of this airport was great when there was Don Marquez. He was an examiner. This was the very airport that I took my test to get my pilot's license. Not the airport I trained out of. So in my mind I thought I could do community service for an airport that at one time meant something to me. To anyone in the community who has a concern for the maintenance supervisor. Realize this man may be very knowledgeable of farming in the area. However does not even know the proper procedures to do maintenance work on the runway. and the superintendent of this airport who is very well spoken and a very nice guy. Allows this man to be out of control. There is other employees at the Airport that would confirm the harassment and harsh words that come out of this man's mouth. I feel like the superintendent is ultimately in charge. There could have easily been an accident that day. An aircraft could have came in on the side of the runway with no X to confirm it was closed. I was there to say something so safety was put in place. To the general aviation community. And to all my licensed pilots. Preserve all airports. Even if supervision needs replaced to maintain integrity.
