Beautiful park for hiking in fall.

First time visit however I did have a break out with chiggers.

It's a nice State Park, but most areas (including picnic shelter's) are locked up...even though the reservation site says they are open.nnAfter speaking with Park staff, I was told there are only 3 employee's due to a hiring freeze and they've had to keep areas closed. If you do need to have an area open, call the week prior during business hours and they will work with you.

The park is quite and very peaceful. We stopped here to picnic while traveling. The bathrooms at shelter one were horrible, thousands of gnats, flys, and bees in there and was nasty. I didn't see rest of park but after seeing the state of bathrooms cleanliness is needed there.

Excellent for easy hiking.
