Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site

We stumbled upon this when my Road Atlas showed it off of routes 57 and 70, heading northbound to Chicago. What a great place to visit. Donations accepted.nnThis historic landmark features a replica of the 2 room cabin and farm that Abraham Lincoln's Father and step-mother lived in, when Abraham was a lawyer in Springfield, IL. It gives a great perspective of life in the mid 1800's on Gooseneck Prairie, in Cook County.nnThere are additional buildings being used as a working farm when there has not been a pandemic to deal with. There is a pond and picnic areas too. Masks are mandated for going into the Visitor Center and Gooseneck Prairie gift shop.
