Horseshoe Lake-Alexander

Would have been 4 stars but not a lot of amenities at the East side camp ground. Space's are fairly level and plenty of room. They just need to put some gravel down on them. A play area for youngsters would be a great addition. But the sunsets were beautiful and it's definitely peaceful. Will be going back soon.

Has been neglected. Docks are falling in and not being replaced. Needs a good bluegill stocking.

Nice quiet place to camp. Just make sure you have mesquito repellent.

Unbelievably breathtaking views. Great scenic drive. Great spot for fishing or picnicking.

I often drive around the lake. I always have. It's peaceful and it clears my head. But since it's in Alexander county, it's not kept up like it should be. Everytime they've gotten a grant for Horseshoe Lake, the money disappears and not used for the lake area
