Really great spending 4 days here. Traffic noise was my only complaint. Fishing was great and was staff was amazing. Bathrooms were clean

Camping in October provided the opportunity to use one of the seasonal sites with full hook ups. The only disadvantage is that it is only 30 amp. Many of the sites do not have fire pits. We used the bottom of our grill. The camp ground is close to the trout run trail and has easy access. The town of Decorah is also close with great restaurants and the Toppling Goliath Brewery.

The campground itself is nice & well maintained. It is close to Pulpit Rock, a rental spot for tubes and canoes, and it has a beautiful stream that flows right through it. You can also bicycle or walk to the local ice cream shop and brewery.nnHowever, if you’re going to camp here, do not do it in a tent. We arrived Friday afternoon and were shocked to see that parking spots do not coincide with camp spots. We had to park on the other side of the lot and drag all of our equipment to our spot, rather than backing up and unloading right in front of where we were staying. Our picnic table had also been missing. When we asked the office, they got right on it and had someone out with a new one (although, most campgrounds double check these kind of things before check-in that day). The biggest downside was the bathrooms. They were a mess. They looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months, not to mention the soap dispensers didn’t always work and only one hand dryer worked. As for Covid precautions, they only had one hand sanitizing dispenser by the bathrooms.nnWhile we loved the campground itself, we would only return in a self contained camper. The bathrooms definitely showed that they aren’t overly concerned with health and safety, especially when it comes to the current pandemic.

Great place tucked in along Hwy 52

This campground is primarily for RV'ing, although it has some tent spots. It is located on a trout stream and a 12-mile paved bike/walking path, with easy access to the city of Decorah, Luther College, and a kayaking outfitter. Look for beautiful tall trees, limestone bluffs, and cold running creeks for fishing and splashing. Mellow beer drinking is allowed, although I would not call Pulpit Rock a party campground. It is perfect for a weekend family getaway!
