Blackhawk State Park

This place is so neat! Lots to do. There is a really nice paved trail all around it. 2 campgrounds(Camp Crescent and the state park campground) Its a cute little town. Lots of water activities, and I believe you can rent boats. I saw lots of people fishing.

The park is very spread out and feels intermixed with private residences.  Campground is in one area and shelters and other day use areas are in another.  There are no trails from the campground,  you have to drive to them.  Because the lake is mostly private lake shore so you can't hike the lakefront.nThe campground has good shade. Most campsites are small, very close to each other.  There are a few nice roomy spots by the lake but the rest feels very cramped.  Firewood was sold out everywhere in town (DNR doesn't like transporting firewood across the state but when there are no local markets supporting firewood sales, it doesn't help the situation)nThe hiking trails are a short drive from the campground.   Nice trails but lacks a good trail map or signs.

A park to be proud of! And Sauk Rail Trail is sooooo fine. great bike rides and well maintained.

Great place to camp and nice lake. Lots of fishing going on.

Clean, quite, and they revamped the fish cleaning station which works great and is really convenient. I do wish the light was brighter for cleaning fish at night, but it's enough to get the job done.
