Civilian Markmanship Program

Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is a gun safety educational organization that sponsors tournaments, and teaches marksmanship and gun safety. They are congressionally chartered to release certain (vintage) US Army firearms that are suitable for release to the public (see thecmp.org for details). They have a store in Anniston AL where you can purchase several grades of M1 Garand rifles and related accessories. They have a Custom Shop for inspecting, repairing and customizing vintage decommissioned US service firearms. The custom shop also hold maintenance classes for those interested in knowing more about maintaining their firearms (highly recommend the Advanced Maintenance Course for M1 Garands - you build your own from their stock of parts). They hold competitive marksmanship tournaments for people of all ages (10 and above). They hold airgun tournaments for younger people. And they also run the worlds most technically advanced firearms park with several types of outdoor ranges, outside of Anniston.
