Great primitive camping next to a beautiful creek for kyacking. On clear nights awesome view of the start sky... :-)

This is a favorite campground of mine. It is setup for primative camping. They have a very nice bath house. They do have a spicket on the side of the building for water. The campground is in a very large hidden valley between two mountain ridges. It is right on the Chief Ladiga bike trail (mile marker 7) and also on the Pinhoti hiking trail. There is a very nice creek running through the campground. Some of the sites along the creek have picnic tables and a trash can. I have stayed here with my wife in our travel trailer and also many times with our boy scout troop. Be careful using Google Maps to get there. There is a bridge out on 94 which is the road the campground is on. You must go over the mountain and in from the east side.

Certainly a beautiful campground and can't be beat for direct access to the Chief Ladiga Trail. The problem is FINDING this place. There are virtually NO signs (other than a 8 x 12 inch sign right before the the entrance that you MIGHT see in the daylight.) They don't even give directions on their own website; just a link to a map, which is useless if you don't have a cell phone or don't get a signal when you get close. I honestly could write specific directions to the site in less than a minute; they NEED TO DO THIS AND POST IT ON THEIR WEBSITE! We spent an hour trying to find the place after leaving the town of Piedmont. They should also work with the county to get some signs up; cause they do pay a substantial amount of tax money into this little county when they are busy.

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we have been to. Very beautiful and out in country and what makes it better hardly no cell service if u are like me and my wife we are fine with that. The brothers that run the place dude and terry they are the best very nice and very respectful they make u feel right at home. If u haven’t been here u for sure need to plan a trip. I will be back for sure with family.

First time we stayed there we were welcomed by two of the sweetest two brothers! They made feel like family! Love them! We rode bikes that they provided to bike on the trail. What s beautiful place to ride! The campground is like a little place of heaven! We are planning another trip next weekend. We can't wait!
