Was expecting a better hike. Very small trail in which the whole thing can be hiked within 45 min. It's all pretty much flat. Only good thing was the 4 or 5 pretty wide hemlocks_ beautiful looking trees. they nailed blazers into the trees!! Use colored paint as markers.
Lovely WV State Park with marked walking trails. One of the few places to see the tall hemlock trees. Very picturesque in the Winter after a snow. Love the sounds of the stream running throughout the park.
Interested in going back to try hiking, but disappointed when we stopped yesterday on our way home to get our state park stamp as the office (and bathrooms) were closed. May or may not go back as it's really out of the way from anywhere else we'd want to go.
Really cool park! Some short trails, but still a really scenic hike. There are some enormous hemlock trees, the signs state that they're 300-500 years old. Definitely worth checking out.
The park is wonderful, great for seeking out hemlocks, and the drive in on route 50 from the west is really fun.
