Very well planned area. Nice wide trail. The bird viewing areas are great.
Let me start out by saying this was a valient effort at a nature trail. And yes, there are birds. However, you will have to bring noseplugs to view them as this is essentially located at the city sewage ponds. At least that is the only conclusion I can come to from the smell and floating.... Debris. If the day is very cold and not humid, it might be nice to walk the path partially. The path has wire fencing ( not allowing any divergence into the trees) to lead you to the magical end. Instead of a red carpet event, it's a brown one
This place is not well known but it's actually an interesting site. If you pay attention to what is given at the entrance you will learn something not only about birds but also learn how Andrews came to be and that we even used to compete with Shafter Lake, a town that no longer exists. That's some pretty interesting history.nn(Hint)nIf you don't know how to tell wind direction then you probably don't belong around this area anyhow.
Very nice short trail, lots of birds, nice Oasis. A scope can be handy.
