Baker Business & Tax Solutions

I had my account moved to Baker Business & Tax Solution when my old CPA closed her doors due to family issues 2 years ago. We were moved very close to tax season so had no time to really research my new accountant. But I was told I was in good hands and just went with the flow. Over the last two and a half years I have never been more disappointment with a business service as I have with David Baker and his company.nnCommunication has been awful. It would be weeks before emails or questions were answered (always taking me calling in and emailing several times just to get a response). The first year was pretty bad but decided to give David another chance as he told me things would get better and it was just a rough year. 2020 was not better and still communication was awful but my final straw was when I found out (due to a letter from the state) that my state tax was not paid (even though I had multiple emails from David and his team confirming the payment). When I got a hold of David about the issue I was told it wasn't paid because my state doesn't accept electronic payments and there was no extra fees on the late payment and to just send a check in. I didn't believe this so I called the state myself and they confirmed that this is not true and not only do they accept payment three ways electronically, starting this year they only are accepting payments electronically and there was interest and late fees on the account. There was also a red flag because every time David told me what I owed the state it was a different number. And when I asked why he kept telling me a different number, I was told he was rounding. Which didn't make any sense to me.nnDavid or his team should not only have informed me when the payment didn't go through back in April, I really did not appreciate being lied to by someone I am suppose to trust with my finances and taxes. David and his team messed up & just hoped I would mail a check in a pay the late fees with no questions.nnWhen I brought all this up to David, because I obviously was not happy, It took 2 and a half weeks to get an email response after multiple emails and multiple phone messaged. All I got was more excuses and blame on Utah. There was no attempt to justify the situation or apology for his actions.nnI also personally know two others who were moved over when our old CPA shut doors and they have had nothing but issues and negative things to say as well. Not to mention their taxes were done incorrectly and they had to personally catch it themselves and ask for it to be corrected.nnI am so glad to finally be moving on to someone else and knowing I can get in touch with my accountant within a reasonable time and know my finances are taken care of without worrying about someone being shady or lying to cover their mistakes. Something I assume most people don't want in an accountant.

David Baker and his team (specifically Ashley) are absolutely fantastic CPA and I would HIGHLY recommend them, they have been my personal and business accountant/adviser for years. I feel very fortunate to have found them.
