Thoroughly impressed with this National Monument. The Park Rangers were super nice and very helpful in answering all of our questions. Short walk down a concrete sidewalk to enter the dig site that is inside a climate controlled building. Completely wheelchair accessible. Great interpretive signs that thoroughly explain the uniqueness of this site. Small charge to enter but this helps pay for the paleontologist doing the excavating. There is also a short trail that we didn’t take due to time constraints with our travel. Our National Park passes did not work here, but we were more than happy to pay the small fee. Both the adults and kids enjoyed this stop. 30 minutes to an hour is all it’ll take. Highly recommend!
I had no idea this was here! This place is amazing. You walk down a short path to the facility where the excavation is located - you can peer directly into the dig site from above. The artwork in the facility is amazing as well! The gift shop was great - it was moved outside to a nice tented area for proper social distancing. We all thoroughly enjoyed this!
Great hidden gem! I'm glad it popped up on our map, or children enjoyed the walking trail and the new experience. Staff was readily available to answer questions and help. They are practicing Social distancing and have indoor restrooms. The paved walkways were nice. They have many picnic tables to enjoy a snack or bring a sack lunch. Ample seating throughout the nature walk to sit and enjoy the scenery. Perfect for all dinosaur lovers and did not disappoint my boys.
Very informative place to visit. Didn't know Mammoths existed in this area. Was worth the few dollars to get in.nThe staff was great. Very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Heck even the weedwhacker guy stopped doing what he was doing and let us walk by not to disturb us. Thank You!
Brought the family here to discover something new. Prices for entrance are not high. Does require to wear face mask when going inside building to see the Mammoth bones. Has a small location for a picnic. Has 3-4 different trails if you up for a walk. We had a great day, people working there are great with kids.
