South Texas ISD Health Professions

While a school like this does prepare you for college, there are quite a few bad teachers. That doesn't help with the workload that this school gives, so that's something to consider. Quite a few teachers expect students to already have everything together academically which isn't true. I'd also say that the administration here is not good, especially when Dr. Heater was around.

I am an alumni and graduated from south Texas High School in 2015. I had terrible experiences at this high school all due to the vice principal RIGO OLIVAREZ. This man is a racist and takes joy in humiliating his students. When I first met him in 9th grade, he was my gym teacher and he seemed to dislike me for no reason. He would give me failing grades and would pick on me constantly in class and yell at me for no reason. It is important for me to say that during my entire high school career I was wearing a hijab (a religious head covering). Later on when I was a junior he was for some reason been promoted to being vice principle. During this time he had hacked in to my twitter account and sent private photos I had sent to my boyfriend at the time TO MY FATHER. He FORVER changed my relationship with him. He then proceeded to call me into his office where he falsely accused me of being a terrorist and wanting to “set fire to the school and then tweet about it saying lol” he also claimed he had a recording of me saying this. When I asked him if I could hear the recording he claimed that it had been “deleted”. I was so upset to hear this and began to cry. He took me in front of all of my peers so they could see how upset I was. Not to mention while he was making these crazy accusations he had a SMILE on his face and was completely overwhelmed with joy when he was saying those things. I was not strong enough then since I was still a child to fight back. I to this day cannot believe someone who is supposed to help his students would do this. He falsely accused a Muslim student that she was a terrorist. I have heard many claims of him being racist towards other students of color and urge them to speak up. THIS MAN SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS POSITION. He is a racist and takes advantage of students for his disturbing pleasure. There need to be change! And he must not go unpunished!

Excellent school. Teachers are hard, but in a good way. There is not bullying at all that I witnessed. It chaallenges you the right amount. Also Classmates are so supportive and the comunity is so loving. I loved this school. I spent the best 4 years of my life in here.

I'm a sophomore there at Med high best school ever teachers r so nice and caring they care about u and your education but staff and principals there at Med high know who your hiring and if they meet the qualifications to even work at a school like that make sure there professional and Not disturbing class like every A Day
