Wow! What a great trip we had on Kachemak Bay with Glenn of Seaman’s Ecotour Adventures. My husband and I arrived in town on business to unexpectedly great weather. We knew we had to get out on the water, but hadn’t made any reservations. A call to Glenn at 9:00 am led to a departure at 10:00 am. We were too early for birding season, but Glenn went out of his way to give us the best experience possible. This was no canned tour. He asked what we wanted to see and then set about showing us. We had opportunities to watch bald eagles diving for fish; to view sea otters with newborn babies; to find the long-tailed ducks we’d never seen; and to watch a variety of other birds and mammals. Along the way, Glenn shared stories of the area, pointed out interesting sites, and told tales of fishing, hunting, and living in Alaska. His knowledge was deep, including natural history, cultural history, marine biology, bird behavior, wildlife habitats, and more. What really differentiated this trip was Glenn’s obvious enthusiasm for the area and his joy of being out in a beautiful environment. “It just doesn’t get much better than this!” We can’t wait to come back in birding season and go out with him again.
Our full day charter tour of Kachemak Bay with Glenn Seaman was fabulous. Glenn has decades of marine biology experience, is passionate about the area and is very knowledgeable on locale culture/history. Glenn will tailor each trip for exactly what you want to focus on. Perfect small boat can get up close and personal to what you want to see. See pictures for some of the seals, otters, eagles, gulls, puffins, cormorants, black turnstone, mountains, glaciers we enjoyed on May 15, 2017. Keep in mind charter boat pricing is for the whole boat and not per person. Glenn's half day charter for just my wife and I was essentially the same we paid two days earlier for a four-hour rafting trip on a per-person basis.
