Definitely took a risk from walking by outside. Couldn't get past the great aroma coming from this place, so I thought I'd take a chance. First, the service is immensely kind and considerate. I had never eaten Ethiopian food before. Nothing on the menu is at all Americanized, or similar to my other commom international stops. From the host's suggestion, I got the first item on the beef list. So sorry, I can't recall the name. I got something like a brown crepe filled with deeply seasoned (stewed?) beef and add-ons. I made the mistake of trying a pinch of the crepe alone out of curiosity. It was made to go with the full palette. And the full taste is FANTASTIC. I made another mistake when I ordered. I asked for the dish to be a little spicy. I'm a green salsa with dots of red salsa person. So their little spice was more than I'd get again. Yet it truly was enjoyable. Rather than just being 'hot', there were also SO many other flavors! You normally don't get that with extra spicy foods. I'm impressed. Also, the bathroom was clean. And the bar has a few good common options. The picture doesn't do it justice. Very authentic and humble, but has a great quiet and romantic vibe. The music and TV are on but the setting somehow can be good for a casual but intimate date.nn........ updated review......nI just found out I’m .3% Ethiopian :) so proud haha.n.............................

Great service and very good food. It was my first experience with Ethiopian food and it was really good. Definitely would visit again.
