A hidden gem in LaGrange - especially if you enjoy history! Beautiful grounds with great views of the Colorado river below. Impressive facilities built by a German immigrant. The brewery is fascinating. I was especially intrigued that none of his six children ever got married and financed their lives by selling off pieces of the estate he built. Makes you wonder if giving to your children just encourages them to be incompetent?

What a great place to visit! Not too big with nice and easy trails. The views from the bluff where the monument sits go for miles, and the observation points for viewing the brewery ruins are perfectly placed.nnIf you're lucky, the resident cat named after Sam Houston will be your tour guide along the first part of the trail. He seems to work for head rubs.

Was a very clean and beautiful place to walk trails and take in some texas history. I do wish there was more information about certain aspects of the park but I still really enjoyed our visit.

Very interesting place to visit, full of historical information. Nice trail to walk and see the monument and the Kreische family place. Beautiful trees and surrounding area to visit, have a picnic. Clean and looked after park.

Surprisingly beautiful place on the Colorado River. Nice place to hike. $4 adult entry fee. Also includes Kreische home built in the 1860's. I can't wait to go back.
