Great fields, and usually great restrooms (closed due to water pipe burst). The reason for a 4 instead of a 5 star is the lack of field numbers in parking lots. They are not labeled if you are in the lots, only as to approach the fields do you see the numbers.
A beautiful small area with the dam, bridge, abandoned railroad tracks, green area, woods and a paved bike trail. It is very photogenic. The parking area is very small. I always enjoy my outings here.
Small swingset and two separate play areas for the little and bigger kids amongst the ball fields. Perfect for climbers - has all the classics, monkey bars, rings, fireman poll, and the track ride. I'd be willing to bet there's bathrooms and fountains but I didn't see any from the playground. It also has picnic tables, grills, and seating around the playsets.
Its a great park dont get me wrong. But teams say they reserved these rinks but we have no way of knowing if they actually did. So these teams hog up the rinks for hours. Not fair for other little kids. We need to figure out a system which teams can reserve half the rink not the entire thing. To give everyone a fair chance.
This place is so well thought out and a delight to go to for softball games. The park is just lovely. The game fields are artificial turf so there's no dust flying into spectators eyes during play. Plenty of space to sit under canopies either on built in benches or in your own folding chair. Kudos to the city of Allen for building this.
