This is a great COVID friendly outdoor activity for you and the kids or with the dog or even as a date. First off, its an easy to access place, with easy terrain, with public restrooms that are well maintained. Bonfire memorial is an incredibly important memorial to the Aggie Way Of Life so learning more about it is a great activity for your family or your date. There is a statue about the life of each student lost during the bonfire collapse. The time commitment to fully explore this is about 20-30 minutes, so easy in/out. There are big sloping grass hills for the kids to play on. From there you can easily walk onwards to other places around campus for food/drink.

Walking down the entry way, you feel like you’re stepping back in time- to 1885 of course. Watch your step for prickabers and tiny snakes because the gardeners have left this area unmaintenanced. You can still feel the splinters of the old wood too.

One of the most thoughtful and elegant memorials ever built. It's just splendid to visit this place in the evening. Every design aspect has some significance in remembrance of the Bonfire Tragedy of 1999 and the 12 Aggies who lost their lives.nnIndeed, There's a spirit can ne'er be told!

Totally moving and beautiful. Brought a tear to our eyes! What fine young people these were.

A peaceful place to walk and honor those who lost their lives on the A&M campus. To read about each student is very touching. ❤ufe0f
