An absolutely precious walk. Spacious trails, and beautiful views. There were many people walking without even having masks at all but the passages never felt so populated that it felt unsafe. Wear a mask everyone!

So many trails to explore! Quick and easy access to the new land bridge. The trails are wide enough for pedestrians and cyclists. There’s also several places to take a break and watch all the deer and squirrels.

This is a great place to catch the Salado Creek trail. The trail head is a short distance to the Phil Harberger Park, which has bathrooms and water stations. Unlike the Phil Harberger Park, there is always parking at Voelcker. If you head North along the trail towards Huebner, you will likely come across some wild life. There is also an overlook above Salado Creek green belt. It is located to the right just before the parking lot. You can normally see some squirrels below.nnThe round trip distance North to Eisenhower Park along the trail is approximately 14 miles. The round trip distance South to Holbrook Park near Fort Sam Houston is about 26 miles. A shorter trip South would be McAllister Park, which is about 16 miles round trip.nnFinally, Blanco BBQ which is located by the park entrance is a great place to treat yourself after a long walk or bike ride.

Beautiful walk. Loved it. I'm excited to see the vegetation grow up around the Land Bridge.

One of the best trails in SA! It's world class. I love it.
