This place gives you a very welcoming feeling. Beautifully decorated & great ambiance. Philip Thai-Brooks (owner) & David Gonzales are very talented master stylists. You will be very happy with your experience & results.
I have a lot to say about this salon. Being brand new to the area, I visited because it is right down the shopping center from where I play poker at Rounders. From the moment I walked in I was pretty impressed. The hair stylist engaged with me immediately and was very attentive to my story about my hair. I set an appointment for a couple hours later and came back. There was another customer ahead of me who ran long for her color but I decided to stick it out and wait.nnThe salon itself is well-appointed with comfortable loungers to sit in while you wait. I grabbed my laptop and worked on some homework. The ambiance is quiet and soothing. I wish they had Pepsi but had a Sprite instead which was fine.nnWhen it was my turn the stylist went to work and like any good salesperson talked up her products. She really seemed to be sold on these particular products which are organic. Unfortunately she might have set the bar too high in terms of expectations.nnShe executed the plan for my haircut flawlessly and kept up an easy conversation with me throughout. I was very pleased with the styling and my hair looked great.nnNow for the bad, which honestly may be due to my own hair's constitution and not the salon's fault. I have tried dozens of products over the last two decades and have honestly struggled. My hair is extraordinarily picky and will move to extreme reactions to products by being either too dry or too oily.nnI have tried all the salon brands like Biolage (too oily), Paul Mitchell (too dry), Sexy Hair (nice but hard to get), Redken's All Soft (been using for a decade and it works best) as well as numerous store brands like Suave, Garnier, Pantene (yuck!) and too many others to list.nnAs a result, I feel I'm pretty savvy with regards to product and what my hair needs. I know to be skeptical about the next best thing and new products especially. My hair doesn't need these organic products, that much was clear within a matter of hours. It felt like the shampoo was missing a clarifying element or the conditioner was too dense, I am not sure which.nnMy hair began to feel very greasy, like an overuse of styling product. My hair is very heavy due to its length but somehow felt weighted down even more. My scalp did not feel clean. I have a mild dandruff issue but this product made it horribly worse, not better. I played cards until 3 am and by the end my hair looked like it hadn't been washed in days. I washed it first thing the next morning.nnUltimately, this salon may be perfect for you if you are looking for top-notch service, good atmosphere, and organic products. Personally, I will happily wash my hair myself and let her trim and style it but I am not using the product again. For that reason alone I am unsure if I would come back. But this salon definitely deserves four stars for everything else, they just might want to consider offering clients a choice regarding more traditional commercial products for those of us who are less open to change. Otherwise it feels like the salon is open in order to sell products, not service clients.
Philip, stylist and owner, is the best. He’s talented, professional, and kind. I highly recommend his salon.
The owner did an excellent job on the interior of his store. Great set up. The fountain and couches add to the comfort level. I take care of their shears here. They get them done very frequently which means they like their tools in optimum condition so their clients get the finest cuts!
Not impressed . My hair looked like a fish bowl in the end. Never got a follow up reminder for my next coloring. Guess my tip wasnt large enough. Never again.
