Shelby County Assessor of Property

These people have lost their minds with the new 2021 Assessment. My house value went up 50% from last year and my son's went up 60% from last year. Both of our homes were built in the early 70's. My house is less than 1900 sq ft, has its original furnace (now over 45 yrs old, its original windows, crumbling concrete, drainage issues, no upstairs, no pool, etc.

I called this morning to ask a question about my city and county property taxes, I had to talk to three different people, to get the correct answer I was seeking. The first number I called, the lady was talking over me, kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain to her what I needed. Then she transferred my call to another lady, she was very rude and sarcastic, and finally I was told to call another number, which I did. That third lady was also rude, but I got the answer I was seeking for. These Shelby County Clerk employees are very unprofessional and rude. It is part of their job, to help and answer questions that we the customers need help and answer to. They need to be require to take a class on to talk and give good customer service to the customers.

I used the website tonSearch for property online, I kept getting, no data available. Why is this website up?

Man I was speaking with yesterday was so crazy on the phone! I don’t know. Memphis is not regulated by any one person I don’t think. Hire anybody! Employees act up on these state jobs it’s unbelievable!

Ms.Scurlock is so rude went to court last week was told to call and set up a payment arrangement Finally get her on the phone and she tells me I can't make an arrangement like what's to joke about somebody almost loosing there property she really dont know how to talk to nobody very rude and unprofessional ask to speak to her supervisor and she started laughing I really wish I can deal with somebody else and when she gives you a price its sky rocket high but I dont play about my business so she can laugh I'm still gonna speak to the supervisor and get someone else to better assist me on a more professional note!!!
