Fish House Diner

We’ve eaten here a few times. Good food and great service. I recommend this restaurant

I have eaten at many restaurants that specializes in catfish. Some are upscale some, not so much! Long story short. The Fish House Diner is an excellent place to dine! Good family atmosphere, the best fish in the country! Their onion rings are great and the best sweet potato fries ever. Also, sometimes they have BBQ which is as good as any and better than most! The only place my wife ever got baked fish that she would eat! (She’s picky about fish otherwise we wouldn’t drive over 100 miles to eat there)! If you’re disappointed here, then something is wrong with you!

We had the cat steaks, cooked great & flavorful. White beans, baked potato, cold slaw.. mayo or vinegar, hushpuppies. Nice clean & a good menu.

We went on a Thurs night. We won't go again. There was a lady who cleaned tables, parked her tub cart behind me and dropped every dish into the tub. Bang! About 10 in from my head. They were busy but not full. She had plenty of time to clean tables. Afterward she would stand behind counter staring. When we went to pay, there was only one allowed (apparently) to work the register, waited 10 min. for her to come out of kitchen. The waitress was like on roller blades, flying by our table. Each time she asked if we were ok, she was past our table before we could answer. I ordered the 3 fish fillets, each was only about 3 to 4 in. long. I eat out only a couple times a month and regretted this dining experience. On the positive note, the fish and hushpuppies were good.

I'm from Tennessee originally, but live in Arizona now days. Recently went home to visit the folks and had the good fortune to be introduced to this fine restaurant. I like catfish and hushpuppies, but I've actually been missing the boat for a long time - so good. Delicious food, a staff that seems like family, a comfortable local place. If you're close by, please give'm a try you will not be disappointed. I'll always make it a habit to stop by when I'm in Tennessee.
