We loved our stay at Mountain Pass. We were informed about the narrow road to get back in there but we had no problem. Just drive slowly and carefully. We encountered other drivers on the road but they were courteous and would back up if needed. The campsites are spacious with beautiful landscaping throughout. The rules are reasonable and we were very happy that they are enforced. It's a wonderful, quiet campground at the top of our list of favorites. Highly recommend!nDenis Hodson

Very beautiful place to get away and everyone is truly great folks and have always treated us so well and helped us several times, beautiful huge sites with full hookups, all sights have great views, the only downside would be the road in but it's nothing once you see the how great the campground is, very much worth the drive down the little road! Also to add, yall that has wrote these nasty reviews, if you'd use your common sense that the good Lord gave ya, you wouldnt have gotten evicted or called down, I know multiple times theres been VERY AGRESSIVE dogs and I was nervous to walk by because I've been attacked by dogs several times in my life and was about killed when I was young (never attacked at this campground) but I noticed that the campground owners (Mr. Rick and Mrs. Barbra put a stop to this awful behavior of the vicious dogs immediately which I highly appreciate and about the no out door light policy while your away is not unreasinable! Just do what you are asked any your stay will be pleasant and you'll appreciate that the rules are enforced! I also would recommend this place to anyone!

Very nice campground. Well maintained due to strict enforcement of rules. Don’t even think about parking on the grass for even a moment. Some people may have a problem with the rule enforcement but the campground stays nice because they enforce the rules. Very Quiet. Few amenities. You use code to get in and out, given to you in advance. Didn’t see an office or pool, but did not go over the entire campground, so may have missed them. Bring what you need no supplies, even ice. Not a problem as long as you know in advance. No cell phone service or cable and we couldn’t get Direct TV due to surrounding mountains and trees, at least not at our site. Owner offered to let us move to different site but we didn’t want to have to take everything down. Good WiFi with few restrictions. May be strongest and most reliable of any campground we have been to in 5 years of camping. We could email, text and even stream some shows. No cell phone service but if you have ATT, you can use WiFi calling. Didn’t use showers or bath but imagine they are clean given look of rest of campground. Biggest advantage of this campground is that it is tucked way back in the woods along a nice river. That is also the greatest drawback. You drive 5 miles on a narrow road (1 lane to lane and half wide) that curves back and forth as it follows the river to reach the campground. One turn is very tight. Other curves sometimes are on a hill, which makes it difficult to see an approaching car. We have a 30 ft Class A and tow a 14 ft. Jeep. We towed in and made it but I wouldn’t recommend towing to the campground—unhook before you get on the narrow road. We saw a number of really long fifth wheels so it must be possible to make in in a 35 or 40 ft motorhome but I think it would be iffy and really difficult if towing, so unhook. When we left, we did not hook up until we got back on the main highway. Suggestion if you tow: Follow the tow car in an out. That way the person in the tow car can block on coming traffic you might not be able to see from the motorhome. Caution: Be sure you take Powell River Road from Highway 25E to the campground. Our GPS took us on Highway 63 to Hill Rd and brought us in from the east on Powell River Road. Very narrow and bad route. There is at least one turn that is so short on this route that we barely made it in our 30 Ft. I don’t think the turn would be possible in longer motorhome. Bottomline: Good, clean, quiet and well maintained campground with few amenities but hard to reach. The hassle getting to the campground and making it back out again is probably not worth the effort if you are going to only stay a day or two. If, on the other hand, you want a nice campground to put your feet up, read a book and relax for a week or so, and are not scared off by 5 miles on a narrow road, this would be a great get away. Would be 5 star review if road to campground was easier to navigate.
