White county is halfway between Knoxville & Nashville in the Upper Cumberland and it is known for having a beautiful landscape of rolling forested hills, hidden creeks, waterfalls, caves, more.nnVirgin Falls Natural Area is one of these exceptional places in White country. With 1,000 acres of picturesque wilderness with hiking trails, campsites, waterfalls & caves. You’ll want to stop by one day soon.nnThe area gets its name from a magnificent waterfalls that gets its waters from an underground creek that appears long enough above ground to fall over a 100+ foot cliff.nnOn this hike we decided to do Virgin Falls Trail, but instead of going in and out... we did the newer connecting trail between Virgin Falls and Lost Creek Falls... another beautiful waterfall about 10 miles away.nnIt made for a long day, and if you plan to do the trails know that they are in the moderate side of difficult with rocky and sometimes muddy areas.nnOn this day we did 11.9 miles and climbed up and down enough to equal doing 331 floors worth of staircases.nnHowever, it was all completely worth it, but I would recommend hiking ud83eudd7e in and spending the night at one of the rustic campsites ud83cudfd5 instead of doing it all in one day.nnEnjoy the video, but know that the camera cannot do this place justice. ud83dude0a

A great waterfall, love how it disappeared into a sinkhole. Both times I have hiked here, it was worth as the water was flowing and I had ut to mysrlf or just a few other people (get an early start) Campsites are right by the falls.

The hike down to the falls is great, and the hike back out is DEFINITELY tough, but the waterfall is beautiful and the camping spots are great! Also pictured: Big Laurel Falls.

Pretty good food and good prices. It's somewhere o wouldn't mind eating breakfast at everyday.

Absolutely beautiful waterfall! The hike in/out was a challenge, but totally worth it.
