Piney Creek Falls

A little off the main area of the park, but a nice falls with decent views from the overlook

Piney Creek Falls is one of several waterfalls located at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Outclassed by Fall Creek Falls which is higher, and Cane Creek Falls which is far more voluminous, a short trail and beautiful overlook are still available and make it worth viewing while visiting the park.nnThe only way to view the falls from up close would be to walk up the gorge to the base which is no easy task. The Piney Creek cut deep into the gorge which has high, steep walls. Walking to the base of the gorge and to the base of the falls is over 5 miles one way and relatively difficult so viewing from the overlook is certainly recommended. From the parking lot, the trail to the overlook is easily visible.
