Love the idea of the bar. Its different and quirky. They always have good food and drink options. The reason for my 3 stars is because unfortunately the staff is not very friendly when you arrive and it really feels like you're bothering them by being there. Kills the vibe. Happy drinking!
So after living in Columbia for almost 10 years, I finally made it to the Whig! I am sad that I have been missing out on this gem for so long. I loved the cozy atmosphere and the happy staff. O and by the way... the burger and chicken sandwich were the best I have had in a long time!
One of the best dive bars in our little city. The location is super cool and underground. It’s dark and secluded but In all the right ways. If you’re a regularly the bartenders know what you’re drinking and recognize all the locals. The food is amazing... like so not good for you but everything that you need with a few beers or cocktails. My favorites are the fries with gravy, their take on poutine. I could literally eat the entire plate. They’ve also done a great job of taking care of their patrons during the pandemic and have done an amazing job of sticking with city regulations and precautions even with painfully rude patrons that don’t want to follow the rules.
Great definitely worth the wait!! There's a waiting spot right past the doors, that's the best way to get a open seat. Quite small inside.
One of the best places in Columbia for food and drinks. The aesthetic is really cool, the food delicious, and the drinks affordable... Highly recommend. And I'll be returning for sure!
