Outstanding! We really enjoyed our time here. Kids did the Junior Ranger badges and we got back after close, so the kids wouldn't get their badge. Turned out that Ranger Kate was still there and opened back up to give them their badges. She went way above and beyond when she filled out their books, stamped them, and had them recite the oath. The kids were super excited. She did not need to stay late and do this on her personal time. Made a very happy ending to a absolutely wonderful day in the park!!

Trails have a few downed trees but overall a great trail system. Everything is well marked and easy to traverse your choice of short or long hikes(all are flat). Definitely visit the sand bar if you do the river trail as it's the prettiest place on the trail and the fewest mosquitoes:) Excellent park.

We made sure to visit this wetlands park before mosquito season started. The boardwalk trail is over 2-miles long, very nice to walk. Be sure to download or grab the boardwalk brochure which explains the marked points if interest. We also hiked the Bluff Trail which goes through the woods. Lots of picnic tables near the parking. This is a very popular park. The parking lot was overflowing by the time we left (we visited on a Saturday). Lots of dog owners taking their pets for exercise on the trails.

Low key Park. Always enjoy it. Weather was absolutely perfect on Sunday. Took our new pup for his first leash Excursion. Turned out quite well. Newcomers will enjoy tall trees and especially the Cypress knees. Never too crowded. Canoe and kayak friendly.

I had a very high expectations of this prk. It looks great online. If I could I would give this 2.5 stars. Basically, if you are driving by and want to stop, relax for an hour - it's not bad. It has a nice walk built above the ground floor, which is mostly flooded river with trees. Once we got to the actual river, about 2 miles into it, I was an interesting experience - being in the middle of flooded forest at water level. However, we were really hoping to see a lot of bold cypress trees with their unusual knees and we did not( maybe partly due to flooding). Few here and there, but not much. Huge round pines, at least 5 foot in diameter were nice.nAll and all, I have been to about 10 national parks in US, and most of them I would highly recommend and will return one day. This one is worth it only if it's on your way. Yes, fresh air, and interesting flooded river, but in my opinion, you cannot compare to other National Parks across the nation.
